Dalilah Coleman and her family remind us what is at stake when safety and accountability fail. We support efforts such as H.R. 5688, Dalilah’s Law, to strengthen highway safety. We also believe our industry has a responsibility to act today.
Laws establish requirements and consequences, but they cannot give someone integrity or a conscience. Those choices belong to us, in who we put behind the wheel, who we trust with freight and how we respond when something is wrong.
Dale Prax and Marcus Coleman co-founded The Dalilah Standard to bring industry stakeholders and families together around practical standards, independent review and meaningful accountability. We will continue advocating for stronger policy while doing the work within our own community.
We cannot change what happened to Dalilah. Together, we can work to change what happens next.
The central question is more than whether a shipment moved. Did the people responsible take reasonable steps to verify who was involved, whether they were qualified and authorized, and how meaningful warning signs were handled?
Check material identity, authority, insurance, qualifications, and transaction facts before relying on them.
Unless a condition is expressly disqualifying, investigate the underlying facts and document the response.
Price pressure, delivery deadlines, and capacity shortages do not excuse knowingly unsafe or fraudulent conduct.
Material changes call for monitoring, review, corrective action, or revalidation. A one-time check is not enough.
You may apply personally, on behalf of your company, or both. Each application is reviewed separately. Signing a pledge does not grant recognition, and company approval does not automatically grant individual status.
Make your own commitment to safety and integrity. Your pledge covers you, not your employer.
An authorized representative signs a commitment for the named company or organization. A pledge does not grant recognition.
Apply for Recognized Participant status through evidence-based review of the named entity, role and scope, with continuing monitoring. Sole proprietors and independent consultants may apply for their business operations.
A submission creates no approved status. Identity verification and applicable review are required before approval. Personal pledges, company pledges and company recognition have separate records.
Each organization must satisfy the common requirements and the role-specific criteria linked here. Multiple roles require separate review.

14 VOTING SEATSGoverning Council MembersThe Dalilah Standard Council administers the program. A separate 14-member Governing Council oversees standards, recognition integrity, and enforcement policy. A sponsor, founder, vendor, or administrator has no veto over a properly constituted Council decision.
Seats span carriers, brokers, forwarders, shippers, drivers, finance, insurance, law, enforcement, fraud, compliance, public safety, and a full-voting family member representative of a person killed or seriously injured in a commercial vehicle crash.
Meet the governing structure Apply to serve on the CouncilThe manual defines evidence based review, monitoring, investigations, corrective action, sanctions, appeals, and public status rules. Recognition cannot be purchased or maintained by a badge alone.
The Dalilah Standard is a private, voluntary program. Recognition is not government approval, an FMCSA safety rating, operating authority, a license, a warranty, or a guarantee of future conduct. Independent due diligence remains necessary.
A commitment is the beginning. Recognition requires evidence. Distinction must be earned and maintained. Explore the proposed company designation, review the requirements for your industry role, and view or download a professional Word readiness checklist. Council adoption is required before enrollment opens.
